This is very important to understand, especially since my slave also has work(ed) in a similar space as you have. I used to work with domestic violence victims & there definitely are a few people out there who are truly violent abusers who try to cover by calling it BDSM. However, I was pleased to find out about places like alt.com recently. I think that networking and participating within a community of like-minded individuals can help protect people from the real predators.
