The new year will be dif­fer­ent, 2009 marks the begin­ning of a sig­ni­fic­ant change in the rela­tion­ship I have with my slave. The para­met­ers of our phys­ical prox­im­ity will change. Instead of being more than 4000 miles away she will only be cen­ti­metres from me.

To me noth­ing changes, the dis­tance between us was always a trivial mat­ter to me. With mod­ern travel allow­ing us to cross the ocean in a mat­ter of five hours and flights read­ily avail­able my slave was never more than a few hours away. My slave usu­ally was not away at all, all that it took to get a hold of her was a phone, email or other forms of elec­tronic communication.

People say with prox­im­ity you will learn whether the chem­istry is right. Luck­ily we have had that prox­im­ity already and I am quite sure that our chem­ical bal­ance will not be shaken by spend­ing more time with each other. I would how­ever recom­mend to any couple out there which has not had that oppor­tun­ity yet to meet before mak­ing a long-term com­mit­ment to a change in proximity.

In a mat­ter of speak­ing many things will become more con­veni­ent. I can bet­ter influ­ence and exploit the phys­ical les­sons of my slave and I can help her with the devel­op­ment of a very per­sonal dir­ec­tion of what she does online. Myself I will con­tinue work­ing on this web-presence and I would like to spend more time build­ing a com­munity around com­munity related news. If I start out with the Greater Toronto Area I should be able to branch fur­ther from there. being close to New York will help the cause as well.

I have not for­got­ten about the BDSM Fash­ionista (click the pic­ture on the left) and the idea is still warm in the back of my head, how­ever logist­ics might put that on the back-burner for a while. I still won­der whether there is a mar­ket in provid­ing these ser­vices to the com­munity and whether this mar­ket is so driven by a niche that you can only be suc­cess­ful when you have the right net­work and con­tacts in real life.

There are many things I would like to focus on, build­ing a strong com­munity around BDSM enabled clothes and paraphernalia is only one aspect of it. Don and I will con­tinue to work on BDSM 101 and hope­fully I will start to provide them in col­our from now on. That does depend on how the loony recov­ers against the US dol­lar. I also want to con­tinue my map­ping pro­ject for BDSM and Fet­ish related Pho­to­graph­ers and Models.

I would argue that my new found prox­im­ity to my slave and to the envir­on­ment we will both be liv­ing in will make things a little bit more uni­form and I can start con­cen­trat­ing on recruit­ing more people to help. I would love to have oth­ers work­ing with me on the pro­jects that have been clut­ter­ing up my mind. I know that I will still have to fit in work into my day, but I would like to get busy, build a net­work of friends and get busy as quickly as I can. Using my Fet­life Pro­file has been effect­ive to some degree but I feel that even more time needs to be spent with the community.

I will spend a con­sid­er­able amount of time on the week­ends look­ing up places in the GTA so that I can not only gen­er­ate bet­ter con­tent for this web-presence but also to get to learn more about the com­munity in the GTA. Deep inside me I would hope that most Cana­dian are utterly kink­i­fied and just wait­ing to add me to their list of per­ver­ted brethren.

I should also con­tinue with my list of BDSM online stores on red­dit, as it would be nice to see how the kinky world out there rates those ser­vice pro­viders. Neg­lected a bit in the past but “Five Things You Need” will make a strong comeback in 2009. As I am explor­ing I am sure to find many more things than five that I will have a need of shar­ing with you.

I can­not com­plain, 2008 has been a good year, it has given me a dir­ec­tion and reaf­firmed that I love who I am and what I do. I have had many things I can cel­eb­rate, not to men­tion this move, and I have the tra­gic loss of a doll which I never really had a chance to make mine to consider.
