The new year will be different, 2009 marks the beginning of a significant change in the relationship I have with my slave. The parameters of our physical proximity will change. Instead of being more than 4000 miles away she will only be centimetres from me.

To me nothing changes, the distance between us was always a trivial matter to me. With modern travel allowing us to cross the ocean in a matter of five hours and flights readily available my slave was never more than a few hours away. My slave usually was not away at all, all that it took to get a hold of her was a phone, email or other forms of electronic communication.

People say with proximity you will learn whether the chemistry is right. Luckily we have had that proximity already and I am quite sure that our chemical balance will not be shaken by spending more time with each other. I would however recommend to any couple out there which has not had that opportunity yet to meet before making a long-term commitment to a change in proximity.

In a matter of speaking many things will become more convenient. I can better influence and exploit the physical lessons of my slave and I can help her with the development of a very personal direction of what she does online. Myself I will continue working on this web-presence and I would like to spend more time building a community around community related news. If I start out with the Greater Toronto Area I should be able to branch further from there. being close to New York will help the cause as well.

I have not forgotten about the BDSM Fashionista (click the picture on the left) and the idea is still warm in the back of my head, however logistics might put that on the back-burner for a while. I still wonder whether there is a market in providing these services to the community and whether this market is so driven by a niche that you can only be successful when you have the right network and contacts in real life.

There are many things I would like to focus on, building a strong community around BDSM enabled clothes and paraphernalia is only one aspect of it. Don and I will continue to work on BDSM 101 and hopefully I will start to provide them in colour from now on. That does depend on how the loony recovers against the US dollar. I also want to continue my mapping project for BDSM and Fetish related Photographers and Models.

I would argue that my new found proximity to my slave and to the environment we will both be living in will make things a little bit more uniform and I can start concentrating on recruiting more people to help. I would love to have others working with me on the projects that have been cluttering up my mind. I know that I will still have to fit in work into my day, but I would like to get busy, build a network of friends and get busy as quickly as I can. Using my Fetlife Profile has been effective to some degree but I feel that even more time needs to be spent with the community.

I will spend a considerable amount of time on the weekends looking up places in the GTA so that I can not only generate better content for this web-presence but also to get to learn more about the community in the GTA. Deep inside me I would hope that most Canadian are utterly kinkified and just waiting to add me to their list of perverted brethren.

I should also continue with my list of BDSM online stores on reddit, as it would be nice to see how the kinky world out there rates those service providers. I would especially be interested in adding your favourite store to the list. Please do not be shy and leave the link in the comments. Yes, shameless advertisement for your own store is also allowed.

Neglected a bit in the past but “Five Things You Need” will make a strong comeback in 2009. As I am exploring I am sure to find many more things than five that I will have a need of sharing with you.

I cannot complain, 2008 has been a good year, it has given me a direction and reaffirmed that I love who I am and what I do. I have had many things I can celebrate, not to mention this move, and I have the tragic loss of a doll which I never really had a chance to make mine to consider.
